Rotunda
Grand Central
The Rotunda of the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion serves as a grand central space, the suspended staircase and open layout provides a visual transition between the mansion’s public and private areas, while showcasing the state’s history, art, and architectural beauty.

Rotunda
Artistic License
The Mansion’s elegant marble floor features a central motif made of approximately 2,500 pieces of marble showcasing the state seal, with a magnolia blossom prominently at its base. Though beautiful, the official Louisiana state seal does not feature a magnolia at its base; the designer exercised artistic license by incorporating one.
